• Ugramm on Encore!

Ugramm released earlier this year as Sri Murali's most expected project of recent years. The first day of Ugramm's Premiere proved that it is a galloping horse that is bound to run for a 100 more days unstopped. Sri Murali emerged like phoenix with Ugramm's success and the movie created waves in its making and the records it broke. Sri Murali's fans were thrilled to see their hero in a new avatar, donning a new look and mannerism, which appealed to both mass and class audience. Despite all the brouhaha, the man behind this incredible story, Prashanth Neel, the director, remained at his humble best and savoured the success silently. A tough journey indeed, Ugramm has its share of struggle stories that built up to its success today. There were several reworks and reshoots in the course, for which the artists too had to work extremely hard to bring it out in its current form. Ugramm recently celebrated its unbeaten 100 day sprint which bears prime witness to the hard work the cast and crew have put in. However, the fans can rejoice to another sweet news from the director himself! Ugramm is coming again but with a sequel. The title is reportedly named as 'Ugramm Veeram', adapted from the title song of the former. Prashanth Neel, overwhelmed by the response he received from the audience and fans along with a pushing demand for a sequel from the fans themselves, has finally decided to surrender to the call of Sri Murali's fans and gift them with 'Ugramm 2'. So far, the dates have not been confirmed and Prashanth Neel is busy planning his next movie, and after that with Puneeth Rajkumar. Once these two projects are done, the work for Ugramm 2 should resume. Ugramm emerged as a super hit in 2014 and redefined Sri Murali's image. Ugramm 2 hopes to reinforce this popularity by treating his fans with more to expect and enjoy. Let's hope for another blockbuster from director-producer Prashanth Neel and wish him luck to rock the screens again!

• Oggarane - Don't Watch It Hungry

Masala Dosas, steaming idlis, hissing paddus and colorful rice; melting ice cream, pouring badam milk, jumping mustard, and the aromatic pickles - Oggarane starts off with Kailash Kher singing Shishunala Sharief's 'Ee Janumave Ahaa Dorakide', that soothes one's ears and the visuals that make your mouth water. Prakash Raj has adopted Malayalam's Salt n Pepper in three South Indian styles - Oggarane in Kannada, Ulavacharu Biryani in Telugu, and Un Samayal Arayil in Tamil. If you're wondering how it is going to taste, hear us out, for your ears are in for a treat! Kalidas (Prakash Raj), an archaeologist in his 40s is unmarried and lives with his cousin (Mandya Ramesh). One day, Kalidas's nephew Naveen (Tejus) gifts him a mobile phone for New Year's Day and Gauri (Sneha), a dubbing artist, accidentally calls Kalidas's number while trying to order from a hotel. This sparks off an argument and later breezes into a pleasant friendship over the phone for the both. One fine day, the both decide to meet face-to-face and get ready in their best looking attire. But inferiority makes them think otherwise and they send in substitutes to meet their other counterparts. From there, a mix of confusions and misunderstandings arise that put them into more loneliness. Oggarane touches upon the human values of love, care, the need for a partner, and the pain of loneliness. Prakash Raj, as the middle aged single archaeologist is brilliant in his conveying of a hesitant man who is not used to talking to women. Sneha, as Gauri, is equally convincing as a frustrated single woman in the wait for companionship. Urvashi as the Malayali Chechi, Achyutha Kumar as the cook, and the transgender beautician are all a treat to watch with their supporting roles. However, Tejus and Samyuktha Hornad, as the young couple discovering romance among themselves, look fresh with their mannerisms and act. Preetha's cinematography will not only delight your eyes but also manages to tease your taste buds. Ilaiyaraja's music again proves he is the unmatchable maestro when composing romantic tunes. Shyam Pushkaran and Dileesh Nair's original story is narrated beautifully by Prakash Raj, who has also penned the screenplay for the film. Prakash Raj's latest directorial Oggarane is sure to appeal to the family audience and is worth your time! Don't miss it this weekend!

• The Aromatic Press Meet of Oggarane

Hotel Gold Finch, on Saturday evening, was brimming with the aroma of Oggarane, Prakash Raj's latest trilingual directorial in Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu. The Press Meet was hosted by the director himself, amidst the companies of his good friends and actors that had B Suresha, Sudha Belavadi, and Samyuktha Hornad among presspersons. Oggarane is slated to be releasing this Friday, the 6th June, 2014, in all 3 languages. After purchasing the remake rights of Malayalam's Salt n Pepper, Prakash Raj is hopeful of a class entertainer that is sure to attract the family audience. He is ready with his craft to be unleashed soon spewing its aroma of love and care, joy and affection, romance, and a little hatred, and some emotions for taste, as he says. Oggarane is mainly about rediscovering these feelings among the characters, at different stages of their lives. Prakash Raj and Sneha play single adults discovering love at the middle stages of their lives and Tejus and Samyuktha, a younger couple, too discover love for the first time. As Prakash Raj himself quotes, food and love are two of the most beautiful things to have happened to mankind. Prakash Raj looked his best on the press meet and patiently answered all questions the media persons asked. His humble demeanor, added with a clever tinge of humour, kept the crowd entertained and smiling. Actress Samyuktha Hornad quoted that the whole experience of shooting Oggarane felt like the joy of just having had a scrumptious meal. Prakash Raj mentioned about the casting of co-actors specific for each language was meant to be apt for the regional base and has been suitably dealt with, with Achyuth Kumar and Mandya Ramesh in Kannada, MS Narayana and Brahmanandam in Telugu, and Thambi Ramaiah and Kumaravel in Tamil. Oggarane/Un Samayal Arayil/Ulavacharu Biryani is about celebrating love; it is about the joy of sharing it with your special ones. Prakash Raj plays a single archaeologist in his 40s wherein romance sparks in his life. The film's cast includes Prakash Raj, Sneha, Urvashi, Tejus, and Samyuktha Hornad playing pivotal roles. Ilaiyaraja's music is never aging and appeals to any music lover. All the lyrics have been penned by Jayant Kaikini, along with suggesting the title for Oggarane. Prakash Raj has written the screenplay along with suitably moulding all three versions of the film in view of the lingustic melange. Various TV and press media, along with social media promoters including Kannada Movies, FilmySphere, and Nam Cinema were present at the venue. He appreciated the promotional efforts of social media partners and expressed that he saw every tweet and every post on his wall.
