• Kamal and Puneeth to Launch Anjaan Audio

  Universal Star Kamal Hassan and Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar will be launching the audio of Surya’s upcoming flick Anjaan. Directed by N Lingusamy, Anjaan is an action-thriller and stars Surya and Samantha in lead roles. Anirudh Ravichander, who rose to fame with the song ‘Why This Kolaveri Di’ from the movie ‘3’, is the music director for Anjaan. Well known cinematographer Santosh Sivan is wielding the camera while Anthony is sitting on the editing chair. Anjaan is produced under the banner of Thirrupathi Brothers and UTV Motion Pictures. It is slated for release on August 15, 2014.

• Bahuparak to Hit the Screens on 25 July

  Simple Director Suni, after delivering superhits Simple Agondu Love Story and Ulidavaru Kandante (directed by Rakshith Shetty), is coming back with his most expected project starring Srinagara Kitty, Bahuparak. Bahuparak was started in July 2013 and is now completed, with Suvin Cinemas releasing the trailer and video songs last month. Bahuparak stars Meghana Raj in a dual role, along with Srinagara Kitty essaying a triple role. Bahuparak is slated to hit the theatres on 25 July, after a long wait.

• Kasturi Nivasa to Rerelease in August

  Dr Rajkumar’s much revered classic Kasturi Nivasa has been under work with the coloring process under progress for quite some long time. Recently, Nanobba Kalla was color corrected and released in 5.1 sound again in theatres. Now, Kasturi Nivasa is undergoing the same procedure, with the original black and white movie getting coloured in all its gusto and sounding more melodious under DTS sound. The sweet news, however, is that this classic is being re-released after a harrowing amount of work in August, 2014. This is the third Rajkumar movie to be digitally restored after Satya Harishchandra and Nanobba Kalla. Operation Diamond Racket is, too, under progress, as per sources.

• Govt. Spends INR 1.16 Cr for the Treatment of Ambareesh

  Congress MP and Rebel Star Ambareesh was hospitalized in Singapore some days back owing to a respiratory ailment, after his condition turned quite serious. He was airlifted from Vikram Hospital of Bangalore to a hospital based in Singapore for advanced treatment. Ambarish had himself quoted that he would bear the expenses personally, but according to the law that enables Ministers for medical reimbursement from the Government, the State Government has borne the complete expenses of INR 1,16,90,137 of the treatment. • Power*** Distribution Rights Sold for a Record Price

• Ramya to Pair Opposite Puneeth in Doddamane Huduga

  After acting together in the super hits that include Abhi, Akash, and Arasu, Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar and Ramya are pairing up again to play lead in Soori’s directorial Doddamane Huduga. • Crucial Lead to the Police on Nayana Krishna?

  Kannada actress Nayana Krishna, who has risen to notoriety recently with her blackmailing racket, is still absconding despite her associate Gym Raghu arrested last week. Nayana Krishna’s gang had recently blackmailed a city based doctor trying to extort money from him for a sex tape they secretly shot involving him. The doctor had immediately reported the police about the incident after which the gang had disappeared. Just after Gym Raghu was captured by the CCB, Nayana Krishna’s car has been found in a village Ponnachi near Kollegala, left abandoned for quite some days for now. • Kannada Films on the Wait to get Censored

  Around 13 Kannada movies waiting to be released are made to wait further, with the Central Board of Film Certification board members still to review the films and certify them. According to M Nagendra Swamy, who is the Regional Officer for CBFC, cited that owing to the ending of term of 92 of 99 members of the board, the censor preview has come to a standstill, with both the board and the film makers waiting for the appointment of new members. Moreover, the panel currently does not have any women members representing the board, as the previewing panel of 5 members needs to have at least 2 women on board.   Director Prashanth Kumar’s Akramana is all ready to release tomorrow and we happened to talk to actress Shilpi Sharma who has played a prominent role in the movie. Shilpi is based in Mumbai and has already acted in the Telugu movie Green Signal. She was also seen in the TV series Kahaani Chandrakantha Ki which garnered her a lot of popularity. She is currently working on a Telugu movie and a Tamil movie under the banner of Tirupati Brothers. Already the winner of titles ‘Miss Delhi Queen’, ‘Femina Miss India – State Pageant’, ‘Miss Body Beautiful’, ‘Miss Beautiful Smile’, and ‘Miss Pune’, read on as Shilpi shared her experience of acting in Akramana. FilmySphere: How did you get involved in the movie Akramana? Shilpi Sharma: I am based in Mumbai and my casting director learnt about a requirement for a Kannada movie and sent in my photographs. It was intended to be a guest role and the director Prashanth, who was impressed with my photos, called me for an audition. After the initial costume and dialogue tests, a small workshop was conducted to familiarize me with the role. Upon learning about the story and my character, I was moved and wanted to do it. Moreover, knowing it was a 3D movie added further excitement to the overall feel. FS: How was your experience shooting for Akramana? Shilpi: It was a great experience working on the sets of Akramana. I got to work with a very dedicated and supportive team who were very hardworking. With the help of such a team, I managed to cope with the language constraints quite easily. There was a particular song ‘Bul Bul’ with a retro feel to it where I was clad in a retro attire. The whole experience and style made it seem very close to my heart and I enjoyed every bit of it. I frequently would go look at the monitor at myself in 3D after a shot was completed (laughs). FS: Tell us about your role in Akramana. Shilpi: Though in reality I’m not a very superstitious person, the role I was asked to play was close to it thematically. I play the role of an NRI doctor named Kaveri, whose parents are killed at an early age. Kaveri comes back to her village to serve the people there, but she faces opposition from her own brother who is a follower of an Aghori baba. She pretty soon garners the faith of the villagers but her parents’ killers have a hatch plotted against her. How she takes revenge on them forms the rest of the story. FS: Tell us about your co-stars. Shilpi: I had a great time working with Raghu Mukherjee, who plays a cop in the film. Raghu would often help me with the language. Also, I had a very cordial relationship with Daisy Shah, who plays Raghu’s love interest in the movie. Makarand Deshapande plays a very important role as the Aghori and watching him act with all his prowess and experience was itself a visual treat. Senior actor Avinash plays my brother and a Siberian actor, Marco, plays my love interest in the movie. Overall, it was a wonderful experience working with all of these actors and professionals. FS: What can the audience expect from Akramana in all? Shilpi: Firstly, it is the first 3D Kannada horror movie releasing which itself carries a huge curiosity quotient to it. Prashanth Kumar has crafted the movie beautifully with the right mix for suspense, horror quotient, action, and romance. The performances are very fine and the characters carry a lot of emotions with them enabling the audience to sympathize with the prominent characters. Overall, Akramana is high on its entertainment factor and would easily appeal to the mass and class audience.

• Telugu Drishyam to Release on 11th July

  Jeethu Joseph elevated the standards of storytelling with his Malayalam film Drishyam, starring Mohanlal and Meena. • Kendasampige Title First Look Released
