• Buguri Uses Fly Cam for the First Time in Kannada Cinema

  Kannada film Buguri, directed by M. D. Sridhar, is currently under shoot in Malaysia, that stars Golden Star Ganesh and Goan beauty Erica Fernandez in the lead. There have been several types of cameras used in Kannada cinema, thanks to the technological advancement we have been able to achieve so far. The recent news is that, as Erica Fernandez has posted on her facebook wall, a fly camera (or drone camera) has been used for the first time in a Kannada Cinema. A fly cam resembles a mini helicopter and has propeller blades to lift it up. It will be controlled by a remote control and the footage can be viewed on a monitor paired with it. The usage of a fly cam gives a whole new perspective to the way Kannada films use technology and this shall pave the way for more technological innovations. Erica had mentioned about the usage of the camera on her wall as, "Shot with the fly cam for the very first time!!! What a fancy thing!! • Ramya Acting Again in Nagashekhar's Movie

  Ramya and Nagashekhar had created magic when Sanju Weds Geetha released. The music and Ramya's acting had won the movie several accolades and just when the hangover was about to get down, director Nagashekhar had announced Sanju Weds Geetha - 2, where he would be acting opposite Kriti Kharbanda. Whether or not he creates magic with the sequel is unknown, but he has certainly planned a project with Ramya, and the 'Mynaa' pair, Chetan and Nitya Menon. The film is titled, 'Nanu, Sushma Mattu Kalyani', which will be shot in the USA, and hopefully, capturing the magnificent Niagara Falls to the Kannada audience. Satya Hegde will be working as the cinematographer for the film while talks are on to call in Bollywood's music director Ismail Durbar on board. Nagashekhar will be producing and directing under his banner Nagashekhar Films.

• Ganesh to Perform Dual Role in Style King

  Style seems to have crept into the lives of so many stars as we look around, and Golden Star Ganesh is no exception to this trend as well. He will be seen in a new avatar aka style for his next movie, Style King. Back in 2007, Ganesh had risen in popularity with the release of his song from the movie 'Hudugaata' as he danced for 'Stylo, Stylo!' in a new attire and makeover. Moreover, the promo for Style King is going to be released on August 8. Ganesh will be acting in an experimental sort film for the first time, with Style King consisting of three stories, where he plays the protagonist in all the three stories. • Ganesh as Preetham in Mungaru Male 2?

  Golden Star Ganesh, who played the role of Preetham in Mungaru Male, the Yogaraj Bhat directorial that redefined the Kannada movie market last decade is going to be cast in as Preetham in its sequel as well, to be directed by Shashank. Shashank, currently busy shooting Krishna Leela with Ajay, has mentioned that he could not deny when the producers approached him to direct the sequel. Shashank also mentioned that the sequel, though containing the essence of the original, will be very much different than it. Also, he intends to make it in an authentic way far from the cliches that bogged the Kannada industry for a while after the success of Mungaru Male. • Jatta Director B. M. Giriraj in Ooty

  Dr Chamaram, the director of Ooty, spoke to Giriraj B. M., the director of Jatta, to play the role of a social activist in his movie that also stars Jugaari Avinash and Samyuktha Hornad in lead roles. Ooty is a story from the early 90s when the Kaveri river dispute marred the interstate relations between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The story is about a love relationship between the lead characters, both from either of the two states, and what struggles they undergo to keep their relationship alive despite the disputes. B. M. Giriraj, after hearing the storyline, expressed his liking for the concept and described it as different, which encouraged him to take part in the shoot and perform his assigned role with ease. 'Matha' director Guruprasad and Malayalam superstar Mohanlal are also in talks for guest roles.

• Actor Dhyan Returns to Sandalwood

  Dhyan, a model from Gujarat, who entered Sandalwood through Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar's Nanna Preethiya Hudugi became a well known name immediately after the release of the superhit song 'Car! Car! Car! Car!', which is hummed even today for its catchy tune. Dhyan also acted in a few Kannada movies from then, but his movies Monalisa and Amruthadhaare were again musical hits and brought him fame. Dhyan, for his talent, also landed in Bollywood, working alongside Shyam Benegal, and created a niche in the two industries for himself. Also managing a textile business in Mumbai, Dhyan says he is coping with movies and business by doing a film once in two years. • Uppi to Introduce Bro-in-law Through Uppi-2

  Upendra, currently busy shooting Uppi-2, had previously roped in Russian actress Kristina Akheeva, Parul Yadav, and also his better half Priyanka Upendra to play the lead. With this, the news is also that Upendra will be casting Priyanka's brother Vivek Trivedi in Uppi-2. Vivek, whose actual name is Vinayak, is already an established actor in the Bengali film industry. He has also recently acted in the Hindi movie Mad. Vivek, when consulted, has confirmed that he would be playing the role of a CBI officer, a role which carries a lot of weightage in the movie. • Dhananjaya to be King Vijayaaditya

  Actor Dhananjaya has been in news a lot often, one, for the release of his upcoming movie Raate, and two, for the making of a historical epic, Vijayaaditya.   After the impounding success of Ugramm, Sriimurali aka Murali is in the news again as another movie of his is being released. The film is titled Murari and had not been released so far. • Has Darshan's Airavata Stopped?

  Challenging Star Darshan, who is currently busy with Ambareesha, had also signed Airavata under the direction of Ambari fame A. P. Arjun. The first look of Airavata was also released along with the posters already decorating the city walls and the facebook walls of fans. • Rudratandava Climax Completed

  Director Gurudeshapande, who had delivered the previously super hit Raja Huli, is now busy in the completion of Rudratandava, a remake of Tamil's Pandiya Nadu, which had Vishal in the main lead. The Kannada version has Chiranjeevi Sarja in the lead with Radhika Kumaraswamy playing lead opposite him. Radhika was well appreciated for her performance in Sweety Nanna Jodi and Chiru Sarja's Chandralekha was also a hit. • Shashank to Direct Mungaru Male 2

  The debate was on all the years as to whether Yograj Bhat's 2007 super hit Mungaru Male would have a sequel. Despite several denials and speculations, things boiled down to actually have a sequel for Mungaru Male 2, but it was unsure as to who would be working on it. News is that, Shashank, who had earlier directed super hits such as Moggina Manasu, Krishnan Love Story, will be directing Mungaru Male 2, as shared on his official facebook page. • Miss Mallige Release Postponed

  Ranjan Shetty and Roopa Nataraj starrer Miss Mallige, which was supposed to be releasing on 25th July, has been postponed due to technical reasons, as confirmed by distributor Thimme Gowda. According to the movie's official promoters Sandalwood Strikers, Miss Mallige was going to be released in Tribhuvan and other theatres on 25th, but a technical snag has held back the release, which will be postponed to the first week of August. • Actress Rambha Accused in Dowry Harassment Case

• Puneeth to Play Dual Role in Ranavikrama

  Popular Sandalwood actor Puneeth Rajkumar is in news these days with his movie Power*** ready for release and his other movies Mythri, Ranavikrama, and Dodmane Huduga under shoot.
