Review of Saala Khadoos
FilmySphere critic · Rating 4/5
Salaa Khadoos in Hindi and Irudhi Suttru in Tamil, released on 29th January 2016, written and directed by Sudha Kongara. This film is shot both in Tamil and Hindi, the film features R. Madhavan in leading role and a newcomer Ritika Singh as a aspiring boxer. Adi Tomar (R. Madhavan) is rude and bitter because of his dream of winning gold medal for India in boxing was not fulfilled. His dream was thwarted by his coach Dev Khatri (Zakir) who spiked his gloves during all important match. Adi becomes the woman’s boxing coach, Dev and Adi can’t see each other one eye. Dev gets Adi framed in sexual harassment charges and gets him transferred to Chennai from Hisar, where he could not find any talent as Chennai is backward in terms of boxing. After a lot of hard work he come across a talented girl Madhi (Ritika Singh). Adi finds out about Madhi what is she capable of and trains her to make her a boxing champion. The journey was tough but Adi puts his heart, soul, sweat and everything to make Madhi a champion. Both Adi and Madhi are short tempered, Adi can’t hear any nonsense about boxing and Madhi. Then at last he succeed in making Madhi a champion. Salaa Khadoos according to me is a great movie and we see R. Madhavan completely in different role. We usually see him in comedy movies playing a comic role and we even find him very rare in romantic movies. In this movie he have played a role of tough angry man, and a boxer which is very new to him as well. Seeing R. Madhavan in different role and performing so well in that makes the audience say “paisa wasul movie tha”. Ritika Singh the Indian mixed martial artist gave her best in her first film. No one can say that it’s her debut film. A trained kickboxer who I guess probably knows about acting in films gives her best and it turned out to be great film. A low budget, not so promoted movie was liked by the audience and opened to positive reviews to the critics. According to me one should take out some time and watch this movie because it deserve one chance to be watched, I assure you it won’t let you down. If I have to rate it I will give it 4 out of 5.
