Faiz Ahmad Faiz (Urdu pronunciation: [fɛːz ɛɦməd̪ fɛːz]; 13 February 1911 – 20 November 1984) was a Pakistani poet and author of Urdu and Punjabi literature. Faiz was one of the most well-known Urdu writers of his time and remains influential in Pakistan and India. He was also a teacher, military officer, journalist, trade unionist, and broadcaster.
